Wayne County Fair Parade - The 200th Mile

All participants from the Bicentennial COUNTYWIDE Torch Relay are invited to march the last mile of the Torch Relay as we help to lead the Wayne County Fair Parade from downtown Palmyra to the Fairgrounds. YOUTH Torch Relayers are encouraged to wear your shirts and cheer from the parade route. If you would like to participate, keep reading.

  1. Come to Palmyra on Friday, August 18 before 7 p.m.
  2. Park downtown and walk to parade starting location near Palmyra Post Office (parade starts to set up at 6:30 p.m. ) OR park in the Pal-Mac High School Parking lot and take shuttle to parade line up. 
  3. One 26-passenger Classy Coach Shuttle Bus will run ONLY from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to pick up torch relay parade participants and family and bring them to and from the high school parking lot, the Fairgrounds main entrance on Jackson and/or the downtown parade location. 
  4. Shuttle will take parade participants to the parade starting location by 6:45 p.m. at the latest. Parade starts at 7 p.m. Shuttle will run between the high school parking lot and Fairgrounds until 7:15 p.m. then wait until parade is done and run return trips until 8:30 p.m.
  5. Proudly wear your Run T-shirt or Bib and/or Medal to show your participation. Volunteers are needed to carry our Bicentennial Torch Relay Banner or a Town Flag while we all walk beside the Float to finish the last mile of our 200 miles of history together.
